Tosin Mehinti scored 19 points and C.J. Washington added 18 as Alabama-Birmingham out-gunned Division II Young Harris 94-81 on Monday night.

Mehinti hit eight of 10 shots in just 19 minutes as 11 of 12 players scored for the Blazers (1-1). Tyler Madison scored 15, Chris Cokley 12 and Nick Norton 11 for the Blazers.

All five starters finished in double figures for Young Harris, led by Herdie Lawrence's 22, and 15 apiece from Sam Mike and Ben Waterhouse, the latter a career high. C.J. Wilson notched a career-best 12 assist for the Mountain Lions. The last time the teams met, in 2012, UAB pounded Young Harris 105-59.

A Kevin Altidor layup, on a feed from Wilson, and a Mike free throw pulled the Mountain Lions as close as 40-34 with 4:06 left in the first half, but UAB was up 51-43 at the break and pulled away after halftime.
