Jacob Bower ran for a touchdown and threw for another as McNeese State rallied to defeat Northwestern State 24-7 on Saturday.

The Cowboys (2-2, 1-0 Southland Conference) trailed 7-0 before a pass by Northwestern State's Tyler Wolfe from the McNeese 19 was intercepted by Kentrel Butler.

Bower capped McNeese's 12-play, 64-yard drive on the ensuing possession with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Bower, who was 19-for-25 passing for 233 yards, gave the Cowboys a 17-7 lead on a 21-yard pass to Marcus Wiltz with 9:50 left in the fourth quarter.

The Demons (1-4, 0-1) took the lead on Wolfe's 15-yard pass to Adrian Reese with 11:35 left in the first quarter.

Josh Lewis 23-yard field goal gave the Cowboys the lead for good with 5:32 left in the third.

Wolfe finished with 194 yards and two interceptions on 16-for-24 passing.
