Niall McGinn bagged a second-half brace on Sunday as Aberdeen collected a comfortable 3-1 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park.

The home side got off to a flying start as Henri Anier found the back of the net for Motherwell just a minute into the contest and the club went into the break holding the one-goal lead.

But Aberdeen roared to life in the second half, starting when McGinn scored his first of the day two minutes after the hour mark. Mark Reynolds scored in the 76th minute and McGinn completed his brace six minutes from time to wrap up the victory.

The result gives Aberdeen two wins from their first two fixtures this season, while Motherwell has a win and a defeat from its first two matches.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday, Callum Paterson scored the only goal of the match 18 minutes from time to lead Hearts to a 1-0 win over Hibernian, while Kilmarnock and St Johnstone played to a scoreless draw.
