McFadden, Lewis, Lindell selected as AFC's top players
New York, NY – Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell have been selected as the AFC's top players for Week 3 of the NFL season.
McFadden captured the offensive award, ending a two-week reign by New England's Tom Brady. The fourth-year running back gained 171 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns in Oakland's 34-24 home win over the New York Jets.
Lewis earned his eighth career defensive player of the week award after registering a team-high 10 tackles and forcing a fumble on a sack in Baltimore's resounding 37-7 win at St. Louis.
Lindell converted a 28-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Bills to a 34-31 home win over the Patriots. The victory was Buffalo's first against New England since September 7, 2003, snapping a 15-game losing streak.
