Jordan McCord and Gavin McCarney collected most of Colgate's 284 rushing yards Saturday as the Raiders ran by Bucknell 47-33 in Patriot League action.
McCord rushed 31 times for 147 yards, including a pair of 13-yard touchdown runs, while McCarney ran in three scores while running for 121 yards — he was also 10-of-18 passing for 163 yards and a touchdown.
Colgate (5-3, 3-0) jumped to an early 7-0 lead on McCarney's first touchdown run, but a pair of Sean Cobelli field goals put Bucknell (1-7, 0-4) within a point of the lead. McCarney stretched the Raiders' lead to 14-6 with a 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and scored again just before the half to make it 21-12.
Bucknell had success on the ground, as well, with Jeremiah Young accounting for 131 of the team's 268 rushing yards. Young, Brandon Wesley and Tyler Smith all ran for scores.
