Ibaraki, Japan – Hideki Matsuyama closed with a 1-under on Sunday to win the Diamond Cup Golf.
Matsuyama finished at 9-under-par 279. This continued his hot play as he has two wins and two second-place finishes in his last four Japan Tour starts.
On the front nine, Matsuyama mixed three birdies and two bogeys. He birdied the 10th to move to 10-under. After six pars in a row, the 21-year-old stumbled to a bogey at the last, but parred the last to hang on for the win.
Hyung-Sung Kim, last week's winner, also posted a 71 at Oarai Golf Club to share second place at minus-7. He was joined there by Brad Kennedy (71) and Sung-Joon Park (72).
Toru Taniguchi carded a 71 to end alone in fifth at 6-under 282.
