New York, NY – Former NBA director of scouting Marty Blake died on Sunday. He was 86.
Blake, known as the "Godfather of scouting", passed away in Alpharette, Ga. The cause of death was not released
Blake, who spent more than 50 years working in the NBA, became the general manager of the Hawks at age 27.
He is also credited with putting together the first NBA predraft camp in 1982.
