Marlins summon Hand from Double-A

Miami, FL – The Florida Marlins recalled pitcher Brad Hand A Jacksonville to start Friday's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Hand has compiled a 1-4 record with a 4.08 earned run average in eight outings for the Marlins this season. He last pitched in the majors on August 8 versus the Atlanta Braves.

The 21-year-old left-hander went 11-4 with a 3.40 ERA over 18 starts and one relief appearance for Jacksonville in 2011.
