The Florida Marlins and New York Mets were postponed Wednesday night because of a steady rain.

The game never started, and it was called after a wait of about 1 hour, 40 minutes.

No makeup date has been announced, but the teams meet for a four-game series at Citi Field from Aug. 29-Sept. 1.

The teams also were rained out at New York on May 17. Florida has won seven of the first 10 meetings between the teams this year and is 4-0 at Citi Field.

The Mets pushed back Wednesday's starter Dillon Gee to Sunday, allowing R.A. Dickey to stay on schedule for his start Friday night against the Atlanta Braves. Jonathon Niese will start Saturday as planned but Mike Pelfrey will move back a day to Monday from Sunday.

Florida pushed all their starters back a day, giving Clay Hensley the home start Thursday night against St. Louis.
