Seattle Mariners first baseman Justin Smoak, August with a broken nose, is set to start his rehabilitation A Tacoma.
Smoak, 24, was hit in the face by a ball on a bad-hop grounder during an August 13 game against Boston. An X-ray revealed that he had a non-displaced fracture on his nose and a hairline fracture in his left cheek.
He has batted .220 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI in 101 games this season.
