Mariners shut down RHP Pryor for season
Baltimore, MD – The Seattle Mariners announced on Sunday that reliever Stephen Pryor is not expected to pitch competitively for the remainder of the 2013 season due to a triceps injury.
Pryor was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 15 with a torn right latissimus dorsi muscle. He was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 17.
The 24-year-old Pryor felt discomfort during a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Tacoma and underwent an MRI exam Saturday in Seattle. He was diagnosed with an injured right triceps muscle.
Pryor, who will be re-evaluated in the coming week, made seven appearances for the Mariners this season. He went 3-1 with a 3.91 ERA in 26 appearances as a rookie in 2012.
