The Seattle Mariners placed pitcher Charlie Furbush on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left triceps muscle Wednesday.

Furbush suffered the injury during the seventh inning of Tuesday's game after retiring the only batter he faced.

The 26-year-old lefty has pitched to a 4-2 record with a 2.17 ERA in 34 relief appearances for the Mariners this season.

Right-hander Steve Delabar has been recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to take Furbush's place on the roster.

Delabar has a 2-1 record with a 4.18 earned run average in 30 appearances for Seattle this season.
