The French club Lyon says it is willing to replay a women's French Cup semifinal which its team won on penalty kicks because its opponent had a spot kick wrongly ruled out by the referee.

After Sunday's match at Sussargues in southern France finished 1-1, Montpellier's players thought they had won the shootout following a penalty kick by Rumi Utsugi. Her shot hit a post and then the Lyon goalkeeper before going into the net.

It was disallowed by the referee, and Lyon went on to win 6-5. Lyon says in a statement Wednesday that it suggested a replay "given the particular circumstances" of the win and in the interests of "good relations between the two clubs."

The final decision will be made by the French Football Federation.
