Lyon held by Brest
Brest, France – Lyon failed to take advantage of PSG's misstep on Sunday as the club was held to a 1-1 draw at Brest.
PSG faltered in a 1-0 loss to Reims on Saturday, opening the door for Lyon to go level at the top of the Ligue 1 table with a win at the Stade Francis-Le Ble. But Lyon was held to a draw to remain two points back of the Ligue 1 leaders.
Brest got off the mark early in Sunday's affair as Kamel Chafni opened the scoring in the eighth minute of play.
Lyon endured the one-goal goal deficit into the second half until a 53rd- minute own goal from Tripy Makonda bailed the visitors out, helping Remi Garde's side to at least make up some ground on PSG.
The result sees Lyon improve to 52 points while helping Brest, unbeaten in its last three Ligue 1 contests, climbs to 29 points.
Marseille moved backed into third place in Ligue 1 on Sunday thanks to a dramatic 2-1 win over Troyes at the Stade Velodrome. Marcos Dos Santos Pereira had put visiting Troyes in front in the 70th minute, but an own goal from Florian Jarjat in the 81st minute and Andre-Pierre Gignac's go-ahead goal a minute later proved to be enough to lift Marseille to 49 points on the season.
And in Sunday's final Ligue 1 fixture, Lille stormed back from a one-goal deficit, riding goals from Ronny and Salomon Kalou to a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux.
