Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Lynx acquired the rights to forward Asjha Jones from the Connecticut Sun in exchange for a 2016 second- round draft pick, the team announced Wednesday.
This was followed by news that forward/center Janel McCarville will not play for the Lynx in 2015. The reason behind her decision was not revealed.
Jones didn't played in the WNBA the last two years due to injuries. A ruptured Achilles tendon forced her to sit out the 2014 season.
The two-time WNBA All-Star has averaged 11.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 337 career games with Washington and Connecticut. She spent two years with the Mystics after being selected fourth overall in the 2002 WNBA draft before being dealt to the Sun in a three-team trade on March 25, 2004.
