Louisville guts out OT win against Vandy
Louisville, KY – Peyton Siva cut through the lane for the winning layup with 1.4 seconds left in overtime, delivering sixth-ranked 60 triumph over No. 20 Vanderbilt as part of the Big East/SEC Challenge.
Kyle Kuric canned a big three-pointer in the extra session and finished with a team-high 15 points for the Cardinals (7-0), who received 14 points apiece from Siva and Chane Behanan.
John Jenkins scored 27 for the Commodores (5-3), who have lost two straight in OT. Vandy, which fell to Xavier on Monday, wasted a five-point lead in overtime on Friday.
Kuric's high-arcing three from the left corner brought Louisville within 58-57 with 59.5 seconds left. Brad Tinsley countered with one free throw to tie it, but Kuric drained a jumper from the left elbow with 33.1 on the clock.
Kuric then fouled Jenkins while going for a steal, and two made free throws evened the game with 12.2 seconds left.
That's when Siva dribbled past Lance Goulbourne into the lane for the go-ahead bucket.
Vandy's ensuing long inbounds pass was deflected away.
