Jamal Olasewere scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, leading five Long Island University players in double figures in an 84-54 victory over Wagner on Saturday.

The Blackbirds (13-4, 5-1 Northeast Conference) shot 63.3 percent (19 of 30) in the second half to pull away after leading 28-25 at halftime and break a tie with the Seahawks (8-9, 4-2) for first place in the conference.

Olasewere scored seven points during an 11-2 burst at the start of the second half that put Long Island ahead 39-28.

David Hicks scored all 10 of his points in an 18-4 Long Island run that widened the lead to 69-43 with 7:14 remaining.

Julian Boyd added 12 points and Kyle Johnson and C.J. Garner 10 each for the Blackbirds, who have won seven straight.

Tyler Murray scored 19 to lead Wagner, the first time in five games he has failed to score 20 or more points.
