Liverpool's Gerrard sidelined again

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard will miss Saturday's English Premier League game against Swansea City, as well as upcoming internationals for England against Spain and Sweden.

Gerrard, 31, just returned to Liverpool's starting lineup two weeks ago after six months on the sideline with a groin injury and received treatment to clear out an infection from his right ankle and was placed in a cast.

The latest procedure will sideline him through the international break, but he could return for the match at Chelsea on Nov. 20.

Liverpool is sixth in the Premier League on 18 points. England plays Spain on Nov. 12, and Sweden on Nov. 15.
