Liverpool forward Fabio Borini is likely out for the remainder of the season after he sustained a suspected dislocated shoulder in Liverpool's 5-0 win over Swansea City on Sunday.

The 21-year-old entered the match as a second-half substitute but fell awkwardly and immediately headed to the dressing room.

"It's unfortunate. It's actually the other shoulder to a similar injury he had when he was at Chelsea," Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said. "It looks like in the early stages that (a dislocated shoulder) is the diagnosis."

The injury is just the latest setback for the Italian in what has been a frustrating season.

He arrived at Anfield over the summer from Roma, but has been limited to only eight Premier League appearances after missing three months because of a broken foot.
