Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Lions released tight end Kellen Davis Tuesday following a month-long stint with the team.
Davis was signed by Detroit on Oct. 20 with the Lions dealing with injuries to tight ends Brandon Pettigrew, Eric Ebron and Joseph Fauria. The 29-year-old journeyman saw action in three games, but did not record a catch.
The Lions filled the roster spot by promoting guard Rodney Austin to the active roster from the practice squad.
