Linard rallies to win in Czech Republic

Dritec, Czech Republic (SportsNetwork.com) - Thomas Linard fired an 8-under 64 on Sunday and he rallied to win the Real Czech Challenge by two strokes.

Linard finished his first Challenge Tour title at 19-under-par 269.

The Frenchman flew out of the gate with three birdies in the first four holes. After a par on the fifth at Golf & Spa Kuneticka Hora, Linard birdied three of the final four holes of the opening nine en route to making the turn at minus-17.

Linard moved to 19-under with birdies on the 10th and 13th. He stumbled to a bogey on the par-4 15th, but bounced back with his fourth birdie in four days at the par-5 16th. Linard parred the last two to seal the win.

Third-round leader Daniel Gaunt closed with a 4-under 68 and he ended alone in second at minus-17. Ross McGowan took third at 15-under 273 after closing with a 3-under 69.

Chris Lloyd and Pontus Widegren both shot 71 on Sunday and they shared fourth place at minus-14.
