Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Matt Carle will have surgery to repair torn adductor muscles and is expected to miss between 6-to-8 weeks, the team said Monday.
The surgery will be performed Tuesday in Philadelphia, the Lightning said.
Carle, 30, missed Saturday's game against Colorado. The 10-year NHL veteran has four goals and 10 assists in 46 games this season for the Atlantic Division-leading Lightning.
