El Segundo, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Lakers forward Xavier Henry suffered a left Achilles injury during Monday's practice.
Henry is undergoing an MRI exam to confirm what is suspected to be a ruptured Achilles, which would leave him sidelined for the season.
"We're all very hopeful for Xavier cause we know he worked his butt off to get back," said Lakers coach Byron Scott. "It's a down day for us."
Scott said the team was running its normal 3-on-3-on-3 drills when Henry went down without contact, adding that he heard a pop.
The 23-year-old Henry has played in nine games this season, averaging 2.2 points. He was limited to 43 games with Los Angeles last year due to a knee injury.
The Lakers already have lost two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and first-round pick Julius Randle to season-ending injuries.
