Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol will undergo a procedure on Thursday to eliminate scar tissue in both knees.

Gasol played just 49 games this past season due to a myriad of injuries, including a tear of his plantar fascia in his right foot that kept him sidelined for over a month.

Tendonosis in both knees is the reason behind Thursday's FAST Technique procedure, which is designed to keep healthy tissue in tact.

Through his injuries, Gasol scored a career-low 13.7 points per game -- nearly five points below his career average. The 32-year-old also connected on only 46.6 percent of his shots and pulled down 8.6 rebounds per game after averaging double-digit boards the previous three seasons.
