Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum sat out Tuesday's game against the New Jersey Nets due to a moderate sprain of his left ankle.

Bynum was hurt late in the first quarter of Sunday's win over the Warriors when he rolled the ankle by landing on the foot of teammate Josh McRoberts while contesting a shot from David Lee.

X-rays taken at the Staples Center were negative, but he did not return to the game and missed Tuesday's shootaround.

Bynum, who had played 49 consecutive games since a four-game suspension to start the season, has posted averages of 17.9 points and 11.9 rebounds this season.
