Kyle Lowry played one of the best games of his career Sunday to eliminate the Miami Heat and help the Toronto Raptors advance to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in franchise history. Lowry had 35 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals in a 116-89 win at home, and in a postgame interview with Doris Burke, Lowry had nothing but praise for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Sort of.
"Against a LeBron James-led team that looks awfully tought to beat, what are you most looking forward to?
Just the opportunity to play against those guys. You know, LeBron's probably one of the best players in the league, besides Steph. Kyrie's a tough matchup, and Kevin Love's always a tough matchup."
Lowry might not have meant to take a shot at James, or perhaps he's just making it clear where he stands on James' controversial MVP comments last week. Either way, Toronto now faces a Cleveland team that it beat twice in three games over the regular season. In the last Cavs-Raptors game in February, Lowry dropped 46 points in a 99-97 win.
