Amsterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Davy Klaassen netted a hat trick to help Ajax continue its strong run of form with a comfortable 4-0 win over NAC at the Amsterdam Arena.
Ajax has now won its last four games by a combined score of 14-0, keeping the club within two points of leaders Vitesse.
Klaassen entered the contest with three goals in league play this season, but he doubled that total on Saturday, with the first goal arriving in the 34th minute.
The second came in first-half stoppage time to put the hosts up, 2-0, while Klaassen completed his hat trick in the 64th.
Bojan Krkic capped the scoring four minutes later, while NAC's afternoon ended with Joey Suk being sent off two minutes from time.
AZ Alkmaar scored three minutes into its game with Twente, but Youness Mokhtar netted two goals for Twente, including the winner in stoppage time, to lift his team to a 2-1 win over AZ.
Michiel Hemmen scored twice for Cambuur in a 2-2 draw at RKC Waalwijk, while Vitesse maintained its place atop the league with a 6-2 win over PSV Eindhoven.
