Kings D Regehr to retire

Los Angeles, CA ( - Los Angeles Kings defenseman Robyn Regehr announced his intentions to retire following a season-ending 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks Saturday.

"That was probably the last professional game I'll play," Regehr said.

Regehr, who turns 35 later this month, has spent 15 seasons in the NHL. He was drafted by Colorado in the first round in 1998, but was then traded to Calgary in February of 1999 before he broke into the NHL.

He played for the Flames from 1999-2011 before being traded to Buffalo. Regehr was then dealt to the Kings on April 1, 2013.

A member of the 2014 Stanley Cup champions, Regehr posted 36 goals, 199 points and a plus-30 rating in 1,089 career games.
