Kentucky tops Kansas for 8th national title

New Orleans, LA – The gap between the two winningest programs in college basketball history just got a little bigger.

Doron Lamb scored 22 points and Kentucky won its eighth national championship with a 67-59 victory over Kansas on Monday night.

Kentucky led by as many as 18 in the first half and held on after Kansas went on a 13-3 run after Anthony Davis, the consensus national player of the year, knocked down his first field goal of the game with just over five minutes remaining.
