Kentucky and Syracuse remained the top two teams in the latest Associated Press men's college basketball poll.

The Wildcats are the top team in the nation for a fifth straight week and for the seventh week overall. They previously had a two-week stay at the top starting in late November, and the seven total weeks at No. 1 tops Syracuse's six-week run for the most this season.

Kentucky received 63 first-place votes and a total of 1,623 points from a nationwide media panel for the fourth consecutive week.

Syracuse, which preceded Kentucky at the top, again held firm at No. 2 with the other two first-place votes. Missouri, Kansas and Duke round out the top five for a second consecutive week.

Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Georgetown and Marquette complete this week's top 10. Ohio State slipped two spots after a loss to Michigan on Saturday, enabling Michigan State and North Carolina to each move up one slot.

The second 10 consists of Michigan, Florida, Baylor, Murray State, Florida State, Wisconsin, Louisville, New Mexico, Wichita State and Notre Dame. The Wolverines vaulted six spots after beating the Buckeyes, while Baylor tumbled four places after a one-point home loss to Kansas State on Saturday.

New Mexico moved into the rankings at No. 18 after a big week that included wins over fellow Mountain West poll members UNLV and San Diego State. The Lobos sit atop the conference standings and have won seven straight games since losing to both UNLV and San Diego State in mid-January.

UNLV, Temple, Indiana, San Diego State and Virginia are the last five teams ranked this week. UNLV, which also lost at TCU last week in addition to Saturday's 20-point drubbing at The Pit, plummeted 10 spots from 11th.

Temple is ranked for the first time this season. The Owls have won 10 straight games.

Saint Mary's and Gonzaga, both from the West Coast Conference, fell out this week. Saint Mary's had been ranked 21st, but lost to Loyola Marymount before a setback at Murray State as part of Saturday's BracketBusters. Gonzaga has bounced in and out of the poll for the past four weeks and lost to San Francisco on Saturday.

This week's matchups of ranked teams includes an ACC showdown Thursday between Duke and Florida State in Tallahassee. The Seminoles beat the Blue Devils in Durham on January 21 and the two share the top spot in the conference with North Carolina.

Saturday's schedule features Missouri at Kansas with first place in the Big 12 on the line. The Jayhawks will try to avenge a 74-71 setback from February 4 at Columbia.

Also Saturday, North Carolina visits Virginia, and Sunday's slate pits Wisconsin at Ohio State.
