NEW ORLEANS – Jonathan Stark scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Tulane held off Tennessee Tech 73-68 on Sunday.
Torrance Rowe's 3-pointer gave Tennessee Tech a 66-65 lead but Tulane scored the next eight points, capped by Cameron Reynolds' baseline floater, for a 73-66 lead with 1:18 left.
Tulane had led by as many as 12 in the second half.
Louis Dabney had 12, Jay Hook 11 and Ryan Smith added 10 for Tulane (5-1). The Green Wave made 31 of 58 field goals (53.4 percent).
Tennessee Tech (3-3) was paced by Charles Jackson and Rowe with 16 apiece. Dwan Caldwell had 15 and Josiah Moore 10.
Consecutive baskets by Jackson and Josiah Moore got Tennessee Tech within 33-30, but Stark's three-point play sparked an 8-3 run to close out the half for a 40-33 lead.
Stark scored 10 in the opening 20 minutes and Jackson had 12.
