Morgan Johnson had 17 points and 13 rebounds to help No. 18 Iowa beat Illinois 80-69 on Sunday.

Kachine Alexander scored 19 points and Jaime Printy added 17 for Iowa (17-5, 5-4 Big Ten).

Illinois (7-15, 2-7) closed to 68-65 in the final two minutes, but Kelly Krei hit a 3-pointer and Kamille Wahlin and Printy each added two free throws to seal the victory. Wahlin finished with 13 points and Krei had 11.

Karisma Penn had 22 points and 11 rebounds while Lydia McCully added 11 points and nine assists for the Illini.

Iowa had lost three of its first four Big Ten road games and won despite committing 22 turnovers. The Hawkeyes shot a season-best 52 percent from the field.
