Johnson accepts Blue Jays' arbitration offer

Second baseman Kelly Johnson has accepted the Toronto Blue Jays' offer of salary arbitration.

Johnson, acquired from Arizona in mid-August, batted .270 in his time with the Blue Jays. He had hit just .209 with 18 home runs and 49 RBI in 114 games for Arizona.

The 29-year-old infielder, who earned $5.85 million last season, started his career with the Atlanta Braves in 2005.
