New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The National Hockey League announced a three-game suspension to Winnipeg Jets forward Anthony Peluso on Sunday.

Peluso was given a major for boarding and a game misconduct in the second period of a 6-4 loss to Dallas on Saturday, after issuing an illegal hit to Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski.

Peluso will cough up $8,653.86 in salary, which automatically goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The 24-year-old has picked up only one goal in 16 games this season.

Winnipeg also announced Sunday that forward Matt Halischuk underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured forearm suffered in the setback and is out indefinitely.
