Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ was released from a hospital Wednesday after suffering a head contusion and a laceration to his left ear when he was struck by a line drive during Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay.
The Blue Jays said the left-hander was responsive and doing well in an earlier statement.
Happ was floored when Desmond Jennings hit a scorcher up the middle. The ball hit the side of Happ's face and ricocheted up the right-field line.
Once play was halted, medical staff tended to Happ before removing him from the field on a stretcher.
