SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jarred Shaw scored 19 points and hauled in a career-high 17 rebounds to lead Utah State to a 75-58 victory over San Jose State on Saturday night.
Utah State (15-13, 5-11 Mountain West) scored 11 unanswered points to open the game and build a lead that was never challenged, taking a 39-28 advantage into the break and then continuing to pull away in the second half.
Spencer Butterfield contributed 22 points and seven rebounds, and Preston Medlin added 12 points for the Aggies, who snapped a four-game skid with the win.
San Jose State (7-20, 1-14) hit just 16 of 54 from the field (30 percent) and has lost 15 of its last 16 games.
D.J. Brown led the Spartans with 15 points, Jaleel Williams added 11 and Chris Cunningham and Jalen James had 10 apiece.
