Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed tight end Marcedes Lewis on injured reserve with a designation to return.
Lewis suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's 41-10 drubbing at the hands of the Washington Redskins. He will be eligible to resume practicing in six weeks and can return to the active roster following the Jaguars' Week 11 bye at the earliest.
The injury is expected to sideline Lewis for 6-to-8 weeks.
The Jaguars also signed wide receiver Tavarres King off the Carolina Panthers' practice squad to the active roster and promoted rookie tight end Marcel Jensen from the practice squad to the active roster. Offensive tackle Cameron Bradfield was waived and offensive tackle Cody Booth was signed to the practice squad.
Bradfield had started Jacksonville's first two games at right tackle in place of an injured Austin Pasztor and was part of an offensive line that allowed 10 sacks of quarterback Chad Henne against the Redskins.
