LAS VEGAS – Jacob Parker scored 16 on Thursday night, and Stephen F. Austin snapped a three-game losing streak, beating Prairie View 73-61 in the Las Vegas Invitational.
Tanner Clayton's 3-pointer capped a 15-0 run midway through the second half that put the Lumberjacks (2-3) up 57-37.
Prairie View (0-6) answered with eight straight to cut the deficit to 12, but the Bulldogs couldn't get it down to single digits until John Brisco's 3-pointer made it 70-61 with 29 seconds left.
Parker shot 6 of 7 from the field, Thomas Walkup added 10 points and Clayton scored nine for Stephen F. Austin.
Brisco led Prairie View with 24 points, Tre Hagood added 15 and Jayrn Johnson scored 10.
Stephen F. Austin will play Austin Peay, and Prairie View takes on Brown on Friday in the final day of the tournament.
