Jacksonville's Doss back after missing 2014

Jaguars wide receiver Tandon Doss missed all of last year with an ankle injury. It was the first time the 25-year-old had missed a football season since before high school.

"You get bored quick," Doss said, via ESPN. "I've been playing football my whole life and you have that time off, it's like 'What do you do?'

Doss, who joined the Jaguars in March of 2014 from the Baltimore Ravens, tried to keep himself busy by spending time each day watching film and studying the offense.

"It was just tough," Doss said. "I didn't know what to do. I came in here [the facility] in the morning and they wanted me out of the building before they went out to practice, so I had all day. I didn't know what to do so I tried to watch as much of them as possible, keeping my head on the game.

"I wasn't allowed to run so I walked the routes at home, tried to practice."

Now healthy again, Doss enters Jaguars training camp as a favorite to win the team's punt return job. The Jaguars cut incumbent Ace Sanders just before camp and Doss led the NFL in punt return average with the Ravens in 2013.

Doss will vie with rookies Rashad Greene and Corey Grant for the job. He said he's worrying more about himself than the competition.

"I kind of just try to go through my motions and do all my steps, spotting the ball, finding the point, and working on my feet," Doss said. "I don't really focus on where I'm at on the depth chart. I'm just trying to get better."
