Uniondale, NY – The New York Islanders signed center Frans Nielsen to a contract extension on Tuesday.
While no official terms have been released, the team confirmed that an extension has been signed and that there will be an official announcement on Wednesday.
However, it was reported by TSN that the deal is for four years and $11 million.
Playing in his sixth season, the 27-year-old Denmark native has nine goals and 16 assists.
Since coming into the league during the 2006-07 season, he has posted 46 goals and 99 assists in 289 games.
