Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says second-year lineman Mike Adams is expected to make a full recovery after being stabbed during an attempted carjacking over the weekend.

Adams sustained injuries to his abdomen and left forearm after police say three men attempted to steal Adams' truck after he left a bar on the city's South Side. He remains in the hospital but Tomlin said he anticipated the team's starting right tackle to be released in the next 24 hours.

Tomlin declined to talk about the specifics but believes Adams will be unable to participate in football activities for at least six weeks. The coach say he spent time with Adams after the incident and Adams feels very "fortunate" that he wasn't more seriously hurt.

No arrests have been made.
