Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Indians recalled right-hander A Columbus to start Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics.
The 23-year-old pitcher has an 0-2 record with a 5.70 ERA in five games -- four starts -- with Cleveland this season.
To make room on the roster, the Indians optioned first baseman Matt LaPorta to Columbus.
LaPorta, the seventh overall pick by Milwaukee in the 2007 amateur draft, carries a .238 batting average with 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 44 RBI in 97 games for Cleveland this year.
