Illinois State announced Thursday that its football team will the 2015 season against Iowa at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.
The date of the game is Sept. 5, 2015.
The Redbirds, off to a 2-1 start this season, are 3-32 all-time against Football Bowl Subdivision schools.
"It will be exciting for our players, our fans and our alumni," ISU head coach Brock Spack said. "I have a deep respect for Coach (Kirk) Ferentz and his staff and have become friends with them over the years during my time coaching in the Big Ten (at Purdue). Iowa has a storied history and has been a consistent winner since Hayden Fry took over in the late 1970s. This game will give our players an opportunity to go into another big, hostile environment and will be a good test to get them ready for the always-challenging Missouri Valley Football Conference slate in 2015."
