(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Raul Ibanez have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract.
According to CBS Sports, the deal is worth $2.75 million with incentives that could bump the total value to $5 million.
The 41-year-old Ibanez had a tremendous first half last season with the Seattle Mariners, batting .267 with 24 homers and 56 RBI. Those numbers took a severe dip after the All-Star break (.203/5/9).
Ibanez is best viewed as a designated hitter, but can still play left field or first base if necessary.
A career .276 hitter, Ibanez has registered 300 homers, 416 doubles and 1,181 RBI in 18 seasons.
