Hurricanes sign Boychuk to another two-way deal

The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with forward Zach Boychuk to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 14th pick of the 2008 draft will earn $550,000 at the NHL level -- a drop from the $625K he earned in 2013 on his previous deal -- or $105,000 in the American Hockey League.

The 23-year-old Alberta native appeared in 13 NHL games for the Hurricanes, Penguins and Predators during the lockout-shortened campaign, picking up one goal and one assist. Boychuk fared better in the AHL, collecting 23 goals and 20 assists in 49 games for Charlotte.
