Stoke-on-Trent, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has signed a new contract with the Premier League club, which will keep him at the Britannia Stadium until the summer of 2018.
Hughes' current contract was set to expire at the conclusion of next season, but after guiding the Potters to ninth place in the Premier League last season, he has earned more time to patrol the touch line.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract. I think it's exciting times for Stoke City; everyone can see there's more progress to be made and we want to see how far we can take the club," Hughes told the club's website.
"I came here 18 or so months ago and it's gone as well as I could have hoped - we've certainly kept progressing which is vitally important from my point of view."
The Potters currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League with eight games remaining in the season. The club heads to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on April 4.
