Troy Huff scored 19 points as North Dakota won back-to-back games for the first time this season, whipping Minot State 79-60 on Thursday night.

The freshman made 8 of 10 shots for the hot-shooting Fighting Sioux (7-9), who shot 49.0 percent (25 of 51). Josh Schuler added 11 points for North Dakota, which had 12 players score. Patrick Mitchell pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds.

Nathaniel Packineau led the NAIA Beavers (8-12) with 14 points on 4 of 9 3-pointers plus two free throws. Jason West had three assists and two steals.

North Dakota scored 42 points in the paint and 14 off fast breaks in its final nonconference game before opening the Great West schedule.

Minot State held its only lead when Packineau drilled a 3-pointer for an 11-9 advantage with 14:23 to go in the first half.

It was 47-24 at halftime.
