Brett Olson had 14 points, five rebounds and six assists to lead Denver to an 80-54 win against Coppin State on Sunday.
The Pioneers (2-1) shot the ball well all afternoon, connecting on 57 percent from the field, 45 percent from the 3-point line, and 75 percent from the free-throw line.
Cam Griffin added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Denver, while Daniel Amigo scored 12 and Bryant Rucker and Marcus Byrd finished with 10 apiece.
Denver held a 34-23 lead at the break and broke the game open in the second half, due in large part to a 22-8 scoring stretch midway through.
Arnold Fripp scored 19 points to lead Coppin State (0-4). Taariq Cephas added nine points.
