Guus Hiddink has extended his contract with Russian side Anzhi, it was announced Tuesday.
Anzhi achieved a third-place finish in the Russian top flight last season, leading the club to exercise the option to keep the 66-year-old manager on for another year.
"Both sides exercise the old contract's option to their mutual satisfaction. I am glad," Anzhi board director Konstantin Remchyukov said via Twitter.
Hiddink has brought a great deal of experience to Anzhi following managerial stints at Chelsea, PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid. He has made a name for himself on the international side of management, taking charge of Turkey, Russia, Australia and South Korea during his career.
