NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Stephan Hicks scored 17 points and led three players in double figure scoring and Cal State Northridge cruised past NAIA Vanguard 70-58 on Saturday night.
Devonte Elliott and Landon Drew scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, and Tre Hale-Edmerson pulled down 11 defensive rebounds while the Matadors shot 45.5 percent from the field (20 of 44) and knocked down 2 of 9 from distance.
DeAngelo Jones scored 20 points and collected five steals to lead Vanguard, with Chris Gorman adding 15 and Keith Mason another 10 points.
CS Northridge led by five at halftime and pulled away in the second half, taking a 15-point lead midway through the second half.
The Matadors (3-7) bounced back from tough losses to Pepperdine and South Dakota.
